Background/objectives: Ketone esters (KEs) exhibit promise as anti-cancer agents but their impact on spontaneous metastases remains poorly understood. Although consumption of a ketogenic diet (KD) that is low in carbohydrates and high in fats can lead to KE production in vivo, the restrictive composition of KDs may diminish adherence in cancer patients.
Methods: We investigated the effects of an exogenous ketone ester-supplemented (eKET), carbohydrate-replete diet on tumor growth, metastasis, and underlying mechanisms in orthotopic models of metastatic breast (4T1-Luc) and renal (Renca-Luc) carcinomas.
This is a retrospective chart review examining factors, which may contribute to timing of receipt of prescription for testosterone or estrogen-based interventions for transgender adolescents and young adults who do not receive such a prescription at their first medical appointment. A total of 176 patient records were available; of this a minority received a prescription for hormone therapy at first medical appointment. Of the remaining 108 unique individuals, 49 received a prescription at a subsequent medical.

For example, we lack a comprehensive understanding of the mechanisms of toxicities observed in patients receiving T cell therapies, including recent reports of encephalitis caused by reactivation of human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6). Here, through petabase-scale viral genomics mining, we examine the landscape of human latent viral reactivation and demonstrate that HHV-6B can become reactivated in cultures of human CD4 T cells.

New therapies have been developed over the last few decades that have improved both induction of remission and lowered recurrence rates which led to improved outcomes. An overarching set of principles connects these therapies with prevention of recurrence being the top priority.
