Pneumocandin B (PB) is a lipohexapeptide synthesized by and serves as the precursor for the widely used antifungal drug caspofungin acetate (Cancidas®). However, the low titer of PB results in fermentation and purification costs during caspofungin production, limiting its widespread clinical application. Here, we engineered an efficient PB-producing strain of by systems metabolic engineering strategies, including multi-omics analysis and multilevel metabolic engineering.

Oregano EO vapor showed stronger antimicrobial activities than basil and clove EO vapors against common spoilage-causing microorganisms in fresh produce, including Pantoea agglomerans, Pseudomonas cichorii, Pectobacterium carotovorum, Pantoea ananatis, Pseudomonas marginalis, Alterneria bassicicola, and Botrytis cinerea. When oregano EO vapor was applied to leafy greens, phytotoxic effects were observed on butter lettuce and iceberg lettuce but not on kai lan and kale.

Based on an empirical analysis of 1,862 participants, the current study investigated factors influencing public perception, acceptance, and risk awareness of biometric technologies. The findings highlight the critical roles of perceived trust (PT) and technical prudence (TP) in driving behavioral intentions (BI), with their positive effects outweighing the significant deterrent impact of perceived risks (PR).

However, the function of CDK14 during organ development and regeneration has not been investigated in genetically-modified animals. Here, we found that genetic ablation of Cdk14 influenced pulmonary vascular endothelial cells and alveolar epithelial cells during mice embryonic development as well as repair of lung after bleomycin or lipopolysaccharide induced injury.

In this study, three-dimensional (3D) complex flower-like MoS self-assembled from 2D MoS, and natural plant polyphenols "Tannic acid" were introduced for surface modification. This composite material exhibits distinct colorimetric signals, excellent monoclonal antibody coupling efficiency, and commendable photothermal properties.
