A novel intraoperative Esophagus-Sparing Anastomotic Narrowing Revision (ESANR) technique for patients who underwent esophagojejunostomy: three case reports and a review of the literature.

Aim: The aim of this study was to introduce the Esophagus-Sparing Anastomotic Narrowing Revision (ESANR) technique for the intraoperative management of anastomotic narrowing and to conduct a literature review to provide an algorithm for the management of narrowing and strictures that may develop secondary to esophagojejunostomy.

Methods: Three patients with anastomotic narrowing during esophagojejunostomy were analyzed between September 2019 and June 2024. The anastomotic narrowing was detected by intraoperative gastroscopy after reconstruction.

Regulating the production distribution in Ni-Cu nanoparticle mediated nitrile hydrogenation.

The selective hydrogenation of nitrile compounds represents a pivotal area of research within both industrial and academic catalysis. In this study, we prepared Ni-Cu bimetallic catalysts through a co-deposition-crystallization sequence, aimed at the efficient production of primary and secondary amines. The enhanced selectivity for primary amines is attributed to the downshift of the d-band center of NiCu, which weakens the adsorption of key imine intermediates.

Dry eye disease (DED), a prevalent ocular disorder, affects nearly half the global population, bringing enormous health and economic burden. Currently, the predominant treatments for DED involve the administration of artificial tears, which is often hindered by continuous administration and constant reactive oxygen species (ROS) stimulus. Therefore, hyaluronan (HA)-modified cerium oxide (CeO) nanoparticles, HA-CeO, were developed to achieve simultaneous ROS scavenging and enhanced tear film stability.

Many brain-targeting drug delivery strategies have been reported to permeate the blood-brain barrier (BBB) via hijacking receptor-mediated transport. However, these receptor-based strategies could mediate whole-brain BBB crossing due to the wide intracranial expression of target receptors and lead to unwanted accumulation and side effects on healthy brain tissues. Inspired by brain metastatic processes and the selectivity of brain metastatic cancer cells for the inflammatory BBB, a biomimetic nanoparticle was developed by coating drug-loaded core with the inflammatory BBB-seeking erythrocyte-brain metastatic hybrid membrane, which can resist homotypic aggregation and specially bind and permeate the inflammatory BBB for specific drug delivery.

TMC7 is required for spermiogenesis and male fertility by regulating TGN-derived vesicles.

Infertility affects 10-12 % of couples worldwide, 50 % of which are male. Abnormal spermatogenesis is among the main causes of male infertility. We were curious about the possible role of transmembrane channel-like protein 7 (TMC7) in spermatogenesis because of its aberrant expression in several male infertility patients.
