An unprecedented synergistic copper- and amine-catalyzed cyclization of enynone is reported. This reaction features an efficient and straightforward construction of multisubstituted tetralone through an amine-assisted regioselective oxygen atom transfer process and stereoselective intramolecular Michael addition cyclization. Under dehydrative reaction conditions, the synthesis of tetrahydronaphthylimine derivatives with ketone group tolerance is achieved, which could be challenging via traditional methods.

Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is an inflammation-associated tumor with a dismal prognosis. Immunotherapy has become an important treatment strategy for HCC, as immunity is closely related to inflammation in the tumor microenvironment. Inflammation regulates the expression of programmed death ligand-1 (PD-L1) in the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment and affects immunotherapy efficacy.

Background: Esophageal cancer (EC) is one of the most common malignant tumors worldwide, which has severely threatened human health. This study aims to evaluate the prognostic factors and predictors of survival in patients diagnosed with advanced lower third esophageal carcinoma (aLEC). Based on the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database, we developed a model (nomogram) to provide accurate and individualized survival prediction for the patients who have lost the opportunity to undergo radical surgery.

Background: Mecapegfilgrastim, a long-acting granulocyte colony-stimulating factor, is approved in China for neutropenia prevention. However, data on its safety and efficacy in patients with head and neck cancer remain limited. This study aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of mecapegfilgrastim in preventing neutropenia among these patients undergoing chemotherapy, particularly those receiving chemoradiotherapy or chemoimmunotherapy.

A novel, to the best of our knowledge, optical fiber whispering-gallery mode (WGM) sensor for simultaneously measuring humidity and temperature is proposed and investigated. The proposed sensor is realized by a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)-coated capillary tube coupling with an optical single-mode fiber (SMF), which is integrated with a fiber Bragg grating (FBG). The as-fabricated sensor can be used not only for relative humidity (RH) sensing but also for temperature detection.
