The gender gap in aversion to COVID-19 exposure: Evidence from professional tennis.

We study the gender differences in aversion to COVID-19 exposure using a natural experiment of the 2020 US Open. It was the first major tennis tournament after the season had been paused for six months, held with the same rules and prize money for men and women. We analyze the gender gap in the propensity to voluntarily withdraw because of COVID-19 concerns among players who were eligible and fit to play.

[Morbidity of lower limbs obliterating atherosclerosis in the population of Opole Region].

Unlabelled: The objective of this study was to evaluate morbidity of lower limbs obliterating atherosclerosis in the population of Opole Region. The subject of the study was the population of patients admitted and treated in the Voivodship Medical Center in Opole between 1992-1994 (1st period) and 2000-2002 (2nd period).

Material And Methods: Material includes detailed data about 1114 patients: 387 treated between 1992-1994 and 727 treated in period 2000-2002.

Local Lyapunov exponents detect epileptic zones in spike-less interictal MEG recordings.

Objective: In terms of dynamical system theory the rapid alteration of electromagnetic brain signal properties observed with transition from interictal into ictal epileptic activity implies an alteration between at least two dynamical states (attractors). We explored whether such a multistability is reflected also in the dynamical characteristics of the interictal signal.

Methods: A combined method consisting of structural MRI, multichannel magnetoencephalography (MEG) and the non-linear dynamics was applied for the detection of subthreshold interictal activity in temporal lobe epilepsy.
