Background: The efficiency of the application of normobaric interval hypoxic therapy and enteral oxygen therapy for the treatment of the patients suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease remains to be confirmed.

Aim: The objective of the present study was the identification of the pathophysiological mechanisms responsible for the efficiency of normobaric interval hypoxic therapy and enteral oxygen therapy in the patients presenting with a chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Material And Methods: A total of 230 patients at the age from 45 to 60 years were examined.

Unlabelled: At present, there is no uniform approach to the treatment of subclinical hypothyroidism (SH). The objective of the present study was to estimate the influence of normobaric hypoxytherapy on the thyroid status and immunological characteristics of the patients presenting with subclinical hypothyroidism.

Material And Methods: The study involved 140 patients at the age varying from 18 to 60 years suffering from SH associated with autoimmune thyroiditis: 75 of them underwent a course of hypoxytherapy, the remaining 65 patients comprised the control group.

A direct method for high-accuracy measurement of the reflex time of the knee jerk is suggested. The method is based on the use of a reflex meter consisting of three basic elements: an electronic stopwatch timer and devices for remote switch-on and switch-off of the timer. The electronic stopwatch timer provides measurement accuracy up to 0.

We propose non-pharmacological treatment of autoimmune thyroid diseases--interval hypoxic training (IHT). The course of hypoxytherapy improves the patients's condition, normalizes the level of thyroid hormones in the blood, has an immunomodulating action. Positive hormonal, immunological and clinical effects observed in patients with autoimmune pathology after IHT validate its use in autoimmune thyropathy both in combination with conventional drug therapy and as monotherapy.
