Investigation of CD47 Expression in Renal Cell Tumors and Evaluation of Its Relationship with Prognostic Parameters.

Renal cell carcinoma is an aggressive form of kidney cancer, contributing to an estimated 138,000 deaths globally in 2017. Traditional treatments like chemotherapy and radiation are generally considered ineffective. Additionally, CD47 has been identified as a crucial tumor antigen involved in the development and progression of various cancers, including renal cell carcinoma.

Investigation of the Effect of Local and Systemic Preoperative Dexamethasone Application on Bone Tissue Healing in Mandibular Bone Defects.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of locally and systemically delivered single-dose corticosteroid injections on bone tissue.

Study Design: A total of 84 Wistar albino rats were divided into 2 groups as local and systemic injection groups, and 2 groups as control and experiment among themselves. Before the procedure, dexamethasone was given to the experimental group and physiological saline was given to the control group.

Objective: The majority of patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) have good outcomes, although the identification of new predictors of a poor prognosis would be beneficial. This study investigated the expression of suppressor of cytokine signaling proteins (SOCS) 1 and 3, which are negative feedback inhibitors, in PTC and benign thyroid nodules (BTN), and analyzed the relations among biomarker expression, pathological prognosis, and clinical features.

Effects of antidiabetics and exercise therapy on suppressors of cytokine signaling-1, suppressors of cytokine signaling-3, and insulin receptor substrate-1 molecules in diabetes and obesity.

Objective: Pathological destruction of insulin signaling molecules such as insulin receptor substrate, especially due to the increase in suppressors of cytokine signaling molecules, has been demonstrated in experimental diabetes. The contribution of suppressors of cytokine signaling proteins to the development of insulin resistance and the effects of antidiabetic drugs and exercise on suppressors of cytokine signaling proteins are not clearly known.

Methods: A total of 48 Wistar albino adult male rats were divided into six groups: control group, obese group with diabetes, obese diabetic rats treated with metformin, obese diabetic rats treated with pioglitazone, obese diabetic rats treated with exenatide, and obese diabetic rats with applied exercise program.

Therapeutic effect of alendronate in an experimental temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis.

Background: Temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis is a common degenerative joint disease. This disease negatively affects the daily life, speech and chewing functions of patients.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of intra-articular injection of alendronate to osteoarthritis, which has a protective effect on bone and cartilage tissue and helps reduce inflammation in temporomandibular joint osteoarthritis.
