[Distant radiotherapy in rheumatoid arthritis].

During an open controlled study of 20 patients with rheumatoid arthritis (resistant forms) their lymph nodes were irradiated at a dose of 7.5 Gy. Clinical improvement, including reduced morning rigidity, the number of inflamed joints, and Riccis index, was noted shortly after therapy and 6 mos.

[Combined treatment of patients with osteogenic sarcoma using local UHF-hyperthermia].

The authors present their results of combined treatment of 85 patients with osteogenic sarcoma. The results are analysed according to the method of treatment in 3 groups of the patients who had been administered different total focus doses acting on the tumour. Besides chemical and radial therapy and surgical treatment local UHF-hyperthermia was used as a modifier in the complex of therapeutic measures.

[Tele-gamma irradiation of subdiaphragmatic lymph nodes in rheumatoid arthritis].

The authors described methods of gamma-beam therapy of the retroperitoneal lymph nodes in patients with rheumatoid arthritis and therapeutic results. The para-aortal and ilioinguinal lymph nodes were irradiated in 20 patients at a dose of 20 Gy during 2 weeks. Half of the patients demonstrated improved general status with a decrease of disease activity and normalization of the articular syndrome.
