Background: The concept of do-not-resuscitate (DNR) orders began when medical and surgical interventions increased the possibility of resuscitation in dying patients. Healthcare providers should start to care more about the quality of life rather than quantity. The acceptance of signing DNR orders varies among physicians owing to different reasons and conceptions.

A simplified modelling approach for illustrating the fate of emerging pollutants can improve risk assessment of these chemicals. Once released into aquatic environments, these pollutants will interact with various substances including suspended particles, colloidal or nano particles, which will greatly influence their distribution and ultimate fate. Understanding these interactions in aquatic environments continues to be an important issue because of their possible risk.

Diagnostic and treatment challenges for the pediatric hematologist oncologist in endemic areas for coccidioidomycosis.

Coccidioidomycosis is a mycosis endemic to certain areas in the Southwest, mostly Arizona and California, Mexico, and parts of Central and South America. Disseminated coccidioidomycosis is much more common in immunocompromised hosts; therefore, it is frequently encountered by pediatric oncologists in endemic areas. Special attention is needed to diagnose, effectively treat the infection, and appropriately adjust chemotherapy treatment plans to minimize immunosuppression.
