Thyroid malignancy status is usually confirmed through histopathological examination (HPE) following thyroidectomy. In Malaysia, the application of molecular markers in pre-operative diagnosis of thyroid cancer remains unexplored. In this study, BRAF and NRAS gene mutation panel was assessed, and the results were compared with retrospective HPE findings.

Background: The purpose of this study is to determine the association between dietary diversity and weight status of aboriginal primary school children.

Methods: Dietary diversity measures food intake diversity in food groups, whereas weight status indicates nutritional status. Dietary serving score (DSS) method was used to determine dietary diversity status, while weight status was assessed using BMI-for-Age (BAZ).

Identification of microalgae cultured in Bold's Basal medium from freshwater samples, from a high-rise city.

This study aimed at exploring microalgal heterogeneity from fresh water samples collected from inland water bodies in the heavily built city of Singapore. Culturable pure isolates (n = 94) were subject to an in-house microalgal DNA extraction method and LSU rDNA sequencing. Isolates were analysed for their predominance and distribution.
