Aims: To determine risk factors of 90-day mortality in critically ill patients in Turkish intensive care units (ICUs), with respiratory failure.
Study Design: Retrospective, observational cohort.
Aim: Many factors affecting noninvasive ventilation (NIV) in critically ill patients have been reported in the literature, but there is no study about the effect of frailty. With this study, the frailty prevalence was evaluated with two different frailty scores among the NIV population of a medical intensive care unit (ICU). Besides, the impact of frailty on NIV success and mortality and its association with NIV application problems were evaluated.

Their 'sensitive kidneys' can easily be affected from sepsis, underlying diseases, medications and volume status and if they can be detected earlier, some preventive measures might be taken. In this study we aimed to determine whether admission serum cystatin C (sCys-C) and other clinical parameters can identify subclinical AKI in medical intensive care unit (ICU) patients with normal creatinine-based eGFR at admission.
