Background: Early differentiation between spinal tuberculosis (STB) and acute osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF) is crucial for determining the appropriate clinical management and treatment pathway, thereby significantly impacting patient outcomes.

Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of deep learning (DL) models using reconstructed sagittal CT images in the differentiation of early STB from acute OVCF, with the aim of enhancing diagnostic precision, reducing reliance on MRI and biopsies, and minimizing the risks of misdiagnosis.

Methods: Data were collected from 373 patients, with 302 patients recruited from a university-affiliated hospital serving as the training and internal validation sets, and an additional 71 patients from another university-affiliated hospital serving as the external validation set.

Aesthetic education is an important part of the overall development of students. This study analyzes the number of rural schools and enrollment, number of classes, and number of full-time teachers in those schools from 2013 to 2022, and clarifies the current challenges in aesthetic education in rural elementary schools and the path of quality improvement. It then constructs a curriculum cluster model that shares resources, teachers, management, instructional design, and practical activities, etc.

A three-component coupling strategy for 1,4-dicarbofunctionalization of 1,3-butadiene with C-H bearing substrates has been developed using photoinduced Pd catalysis, with aryl bromide serving as the hydrogen atom transfer (HAT) reagent. This photocatalytic coupling process achieves functionalized oxindole motifs in good yield and regioselectivity under mild reaction conditions. The versatility and synthetic utility of this method are demonstrated through the addition of a variety of C-H-bearing partners and various oxindole substrates to both substituted and unsubstituted butadiene.

Revealing the structure stability and evolution of gold nanocrystals at the atomic scale is crucial to their versatile applications; however, the fundamental mechanism remains elusive due to the lack of characterizations. In this work, the structural evolution of two types of Au nanobipyramids (Au NBPs) at elevated temperatures is monitored through electron microscopy analysis, and there is a sharp distinction between their structure stability despite that they possess the same crystalline structure. Detailed material characterization reveals that the surface alloying of residual Ag with Au (customized Ag armor) can greatly inhibit the Au atom diffusion and contribute remarkably to the stability and surface-enhanced Raman scattering improvement.
