Investigation of the prevalence of functional constipation and its related factors for in older outpatients.

Background: Functional constipation (FC) is a geriatric syndrome that is common in the older adult's population and can seriously affect the quality of life and may be a frequent cause of hospital visits. In this study, we planned to investigate the relationship between FC and its related factors for in older outpatients.

Patients And Methods: Participants aged 65 and over who applied to the geriatrics outpatient were included in the study.

Comparison of two different frailty screening scales for predicting mortality due to all causes in older inpatients.

Objective: This study examines the relationship between two frailty screening tools and 90-day all-cause mortality in geriatric inpatients.

Methods: The study included patients aged ≥60 years who were admitted to the geriatrics unit of a university hospital between June 2021 and August 2022 and whose mortality status and duration of hospitalization data were obtained from the Health Ministry System. During hospitalization, the patients were screened using two different frailty scales: the Simpler Modified Fried Frailty Scale (sMFS) and the Clinical Frailty Scale (CFS).

Hepatitis B and C rates are significantly increased in certain solid tumors: A large retrospective study.

Objective: Hepatitis B virus (HBV) and hepatitis C virus (HCV) are associated with significant morbidity and mortality among cancer patients who received cytotoxic chemotherapy. The aim of current study was to elucidate the prevalence of HBV and HCV among large population of solid cancers and lymphoma and to compare them with large number of control group.

Patients And Methods: Between 2000 and 2014, 8322 cancer patients who were admitted to Oncology Departments were evaluated retrospectively and 3890 patients in whom hepatitis serology were available were included in this study.
