The intrinsically sluggish kinetics of the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) at the anode poses a formidable challenge to the industrial application of water electrolysis, although NiFe-based oxides and hydroxides have emerged as promising anodic candidates. Within this framework, we report the synthesis of Nb-doped NiFe-layered double hydroxides (Nb/NiFe-LDH) a straightforward one-step hydrothermal approach. Notably, Nb doping maintained the structural integrity of the NiFe-LDH framework and it enhanced the valence state of the active Ni species during the electrochemical activation process, which accelerated the concomitant reconstruction kinetics of the LDH phase.

Background: The translocation of photoassimilates is a critical process that links the source and sink in plants, playing an irreplaceable role in maintaining source-sink balance, ensuring plant growth and development, and the formation of yield. Nevertheless, the mechanisms underlying the translocation of photosynthetic products in macroalgae are yet to be fully understood. The purpose of this study is to reveal the role of endocytosis in the translocation of photosynthetic products in the marine red alga Gracilariopsis lemaneiformis by investigating the uptake of photosynthetic products by endocytosis and the impact of endocytic activity on cellular ultrastructure, photosynthesis, and growth.

In this paper, we report an investigation into the dynamics of laser-induced particle sputtering on the rear surface of fused silica at high-fluence laser systems. Using time-resolved pump-probe and continuous imaging techniques, we capture the entire sputtering process over a broader timescale. The morphology, kinematics, and their correlation with damage growth are analyzed through microscopic imaging.

Hyperlipidemia and myocardial apoptosis caused by myocardial ischemia are the main causes of high mortality rates in cardiovascular diseases. Previous studies have indicated that Krüppel-like factor 4 (KLF4) is involved in the induction of cardiac myocyte apoptosis under various stress conditions.
