Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid--ASA) inhibits pletlets thromboxane (TXA2) synthesis as well as endothelial prostacycline (PGI2) synthesis. Aiming to prevent PGI2 synthesis attempts have been made to reduce ASA doses. Here are presented results of ASA effects in daily dose of 100 mg given to 26 patients with mean age of 54 years who suffered from myocardial infarction and were on rehabilitation.
