Th17 cell function in cancers: immunosuppressive agents or anti-tumor allies?

T helper (Th) 17 cells, a distinct subset of Th lymphocytes, are known for their prominent interleukin (IL)-17 production and other pro-inflammatory cytokines. These cells exhibit remarkable plasticity, allowing them to exhibit different phenotypes in the cancer microenvironment. This adaptability enables Th17 cells to promote tumor progression by immunosuppressive activities and angiogenesis, but also mediate anti-tumor immune responses through employing immune cells in tumor setting or even by directly converting toward Th1 phenotype and producing interferon-gamma (IFN-γ).

Risk factors and population attributable fractions for displaced abomasum in Iranian dairy cattle: a retrospective analysis of field data.

Reciprocal Interactions Between Apelin and Noncoding RNAs in Cancer Progression.

Apelin, a bioactive peptide that serves as an endogenous ligand for the apelin receptor (APJ), is overexpressed in various types of cancers and contributes to cancer cell proliferation, viability, migration, angiogenesis, and metastasis, as well as immune deviation. Noncoding RNAs (ncRNAs) regulate gene expression, and there is growing evidence suggesting a bidirectional crosstalk between ncRNAs (including long noncoding RNAs [lncRNAs], circular RNAs [circRNAs], and microRNAs [miRNAs]) and apelin in cancers. Certain miRNAs can directly target the apelin and inhibit its expression, thereby suppressing tumor growth.

Comparison of laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgical treatments for isthmocele: A prospective cohort.

Objective: To evaluate the clinical outcomes of laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgical approaches for treating symptomatic isthmocele and identify their associated factors.

Materials And Methods: Forty-six patients with symptomatic isthmocele diagnosed using transvaginal saline infusion sonohysterography were enrolled in this prospective cohort study. Patients underwent either laparoscopic or hysteroscopic isthmoplasty based on their residual myometrial thicknesses and fertility desires and were subsequently followed by clinical and ultrasonographic examinations.
