This study sets out to investigate the in vitro permeation of ketoprofen from the formulated nanoemulsions through excised rat skin. In vitro permeation of ketoprofen nanoemulsion through rat skin was evaluated in Franz diffusion cells and compared with marketed product (Fastum gel). Limonene which has been reported to be a good enhancer for ketoprofen was selected.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study investigates the use of a nanoemulsion for delivering ketoprofen topically, utilizing Palm Oil Esters (POEs) as the oil phase due to its pharmaceutical promise.
  • - The oil-in-water nanoemulsion was created through spontaneous emulsification and analyzed for droplet size using advanced techniques like laser scattering and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM).
  • - Results indicate that the droplet sizes are under 500 nm and show promising drug release through an artificial membrane, suggesting that this nanoemulsion method could effectively deliver ketoprofen.
