Expression and significance of cytokines in peripheral blood and bone microenvironment in Kummell's disease, osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures and nonosteoporotic patients.

Objective: To analyze the expression and determine the significance of cytokines in peripheral blood and vertebral blood in the bone microenvironment of patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCFs) and Kummell's disease (KD).

Methods: From October 2022 to April 2023, 16 patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF), 14 patients with Kummell (KD) disease, and 19 patients with lumbar degenerative disease were included in the study. The patients were divided into the OVCF group, KD group and control group.

Background: Kummell's disease (KD) and osteoporotic vertebral compression fracture (OVCF) are commonly found in patients with osteoporosis. Several studies have been conducted on bone cement distribution in OVCF or KD; a comparison between the 2 diseases is rarely reported.

Objectives: To compare the clinical efficacy and bone cement distribution difference between KD and OVCFs after percutaneous kyphoplasty (PKP).

The expression of ATP-sensitive potassium channels in human umbilical arteries with severe pre-eclampsia.

The aim of this study is to establish the expression of ATP-sensitive potassium channels(KATP) in human umbilical arteries with severe pre-eclampsia. Real-time quantitative PCR and western blotting were used to detect the mRNA and protein expression levels of KATP channel subunits Kir6.1 and SUR2B in human umbilical arteries from normal pregnant and those with severe pre-eclampsia, early onset severe pre-eclampsia and late onset severe pre-eclampsia.
