Background: Since the implementation of China's new birth policy, the incidence of large for gestational age (LGA) and macrosomia associated with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) has increased. It remains unclear whether a history of GDM in a previous pregnancy raises the risk of LGA or macrosomia in Chinese women planning two or more pregnancies.
Aim: To analyze the association between previous GDM and the risk of LGA and macrosomia in second pregnancy.
Background: Many patients suffer from genetically unsolved polycystic liver disease (PLD). Our aim was to explore mutated genes associated with the pathogenesis of PLD.
Methods: First, a family investigation was conducted on probands with a definite diagnosis of PLD and the pedigree was confirmed.

Objective: Acne scarring is a common and frustrating consequence of acne vulgaris. Recently, there have been huge advancements in photoelectric therapies for scarring, leading to a growing body of literature on the efficacy and safety of these devices. However, interventional studies are hindered by the absence of standardized and validated outcome measures for acne scarring.

Children with low-to-moderate myopia were recruited and divided into PBM or control groups based on whether they received PBM treatment. The PBM group underwent a three-month treatment with a 650 nm low-energy semiconductor laser, while the control group did not receive any therapeutic intervention.

Up to now, accurate and stable predictive prognostic indicator for revealing the progress and novel therapeutic strategies of LUAD is infrequent, nonetheless. Diversified programmed cell death (PCD) has been widely confirmed that participated in the occurrence and development of various malignant tumors, respectively.

Superhydrophobicity is closely linked to the chemical composition and geometric characteristics of surface roughness. Building on our structural studies on water and air-water interfaces, this work aims to elucidate the mechanism underlying the wetting transition from the Wenzel to the Cassie state on a hydrophobic surface. In the Wenzel state, the grooves are filled with water, meaning that the surface roughness becomes embedded in the liquid.

Design: A single-centre retrospective cohort study was conducted in China.
Setting: Data were collected in Peking University Shenzhen Hospital from 2013 January to 2021 February.
Introduction: Gut microbiota (GM) has been implicated in gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), yet longitudinal changes across trimesters remain insufficiently explored.
Methods: This nested cohort study aimed to investigate GM alterations before 24 weeks of gestation and their association with GDM. Ninety-three Chinese participants provided fecal samples during the first and second trimesters.
Objective: The objective of this study aimed to investigate the risk factors for poor wound healing (PWH) after posterior lumbar spinal fusion. Currently, there is limited research on the application of machine learning in analyzing PWH after spinal surgery. Thus, our primary aim is to using machine learning identify these risk factors and construct a clinical risk prediction model.

Fagopyrum esculentum (Polygonaceae) produces dimorphic flowers with single whorl showy tepals, representing a considerable difference with most core eudicots flowers. Here, we explain in detail the function of a duplicated pair of floral homeotic genes involved in the formation of tepals and stamens in the LH F.

Aristolochic acids (AAs) represent a class of nitrophenanthrene carboxylic acids naturally existing or accidentally mixed in herbal medicines or crops, which have long been recognized for causing nephropathy. Recently, the linkage between AAs and liver injury has become a concern; however, the current understanding of the mechanism or mode of action (MOA) is limited. In the present study, we investigated nuclear receptor-mediated MOA associated with AAs-induced liver injury including dyslipidemia and hepatotoxicity.

However, the specific active molecules in mADSC-Exos that contribute to anti-dry eye therapy remain unidentified. In this study, we aimed to investigate the efficacy and mechanisms of miR-223-3p derived from mADSC-Exos in dry eye models.

Although some clinical studies suggest a potential link between OSA and lung cancer, this association remains uncertain, and the underlying mechanisms are not fully understood. This study investigated the role of the catecholamine-β-adrenergic receptor (βAR) and the NLRP3 inflammasome in mediating the effects of CIH on lung cancer progression in mice.

Methods: From The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database, 327 LUAD patients were randomly assigned to a training set (n = 229) and a validation set (n = 98) for pathomics model development and evaluation. PyRadiomics was used to extract pathomics features, followed by feature selection using the mRMR-RFE algorithm.
The escalating frequency of environmental pollution incidents has raised significant concerns regarding the potential health impacts of pollutant fluctuations. Consequently, a comprehensive study on the role of pollutants in the prevalence of viral hepatitis is indispensable for the advancement of innovative prevention strategies. Monthly incidence rates of viral hepatitis from 2005 to 2020 were sourced from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention Infectious Disease Surveillance Information System.

Understanding these DNA-protein interactions at the level of specific genomic loci has remained challenging due to technical limitations. Here, we introduce a method termed "DNA O-MAP", which uses programmable peroxidase-conjugated oligonucleotide probes to biotinylate nearby proteins.

Methods: Data were collected from 108 patients with suspected spinal infections between January 2022 and December 2023. Lesion tissues were obtained via C-arm assisted puncture or open surgery for mNGS, conventional microbiological culture, and pathological analysis.
In the rosid species , the AP2-type AP2 transcription factor (TF) is required for specifying the sepals and petals identities and confers a major A-function to antagonize the C-function in the outer floral whorls. In the asterid species , the AP2-type ROB TFs are required for perianth and pistil development, as well as repressing the B-function together with TOE-type TF BEN. In Long-homostyle (LH) , VIGS-silencing showed that is mainly involved in controlling filament and style length, but is mainly involved in regulating filament length and pollen grain development.

Rotation averaging, which aims to calculate the absolute rotations of a set of cameras from a redundant set of their relative rotations, is an important and challenging topic arising in the study of structure from motion. A central problem in rotation averaging is how to alleviate the influence of noise and outliers. Addressing this problem, we investigate rotation averaging under the Cayley framework in this paper, inspired by the extra-constraint-free nature of the Cayley rotation representation.
