Objective: To investigate the effects of recombinant human type XVII collagen (RHCXVII) on the proliferation and adhesion of primary human keratinocytes (HPKCs) and to observe its clinical efficacy and safety in bullous pemphigoid (BP).
Methods: The RHCXVII was produced by genetic recombination technology and characterized by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. HPKCs were obtained from human foreskin and seeded onto culture plates coated with RHCXVII at concentrations of 10, 50 and 100μg/ml.
Background: Intramuscular (IM) injection of penicillin G Benzathine (PGB) is widely recognized as the primary treatment for patients at all stages of syphilis. However, the discomfort and induration associated with PGB injections are often a challenge for patients. While lidocaine is already known to reduce injection pain and is standard practice in some countries, the added value of combining lidocaine with the z-track technique has not been thoroughly investigated.

Objective: To evaluate the test-retest reliability of Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire in nurses and to provide supplementary data for evaluating the reliability of the questionnaire in different occupational populations.
Methods: Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaire was translated into Chinese according to the Guidelines for the process of cross-cultural adaptation of self-report measures. We carried out a study to examine the reliability of Chinese-version Nordic Questionnaire among Chinese nurses.
Following British importation of opium to China in 1760s, the use and production of the drug in China increased dramatically. This situation was aggravated after the failure of Opium Wars that occurred between the United Kingdom and the Qing Empire in China with the aim of forcing China to import British Opium; this war made China open the door to a free flowing opium trade, with disastrous social and public health consequences. The subsequent rise of the new China created drug-free atmosphere by strict legislation and punishment, in which drug use greatly decreased.

However, it is not understood whether methadone maintenance treatment impairs the dopamine transporter in the striatum. To establish whether chronic opiate use might impair brain dopamine neurons in humans, we assessed dopamine transporter (DAT) uptake function in the striatum (caudate and putamen), and analyzed the correlation between DAT in the striatum and heroin craving and subjective anxiety in former heroin users with prolonged abstinence and in patients receiving methadone maintenance treatment.

The Opium War largely influenced the history of China in 19th century; however, China was once recognized as a drug-free nation for 3 decades from the 1950s to the 1980s. Drug abuse has spread quickly since re-emerging as a national problem in China in the late 1980s.

Background: Environmental stimuli associated with drug taking have been known to elicit drug craving and increase the likelihood of relapse, and sex differences have been observed in the development of drug addiction and relapse to drug taking. Differential cue paradigms (drug-related imagery scripts and drug-related paraphernalia) have been used to investigate cue-induced drug craving. However, there is little research on the possible gender differences in responses to drug cues in heroin-dependent individuals.

The number of registered drug abusers increased from 70,000 in 1990 to more than one million by the end of 2004. In addition to opioids, abuse of 'new' types of drugs including 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) and ketamine has spread since 1997.
