Background: Drug-induced liver injury (DILI) is the most important standard for the entrance of clinical drugs into the pharmaceutical market. The elevation of superoxide anion (O) during drug metabolism can mediate apoptosis of hepatocytes and further generation of liver damage. Therefore, developing an effective imaging method for evaluating O levels during DILI is of great importance.

The research outlined a novel approach for creating a sensitive and efficient ratio fluorescent probe for ciprofloxacin (CIP) detection. The method used the biomass materials passionfruit shell and diethylenetriamine as carbon and nitrogen sources, respectively, to prepare blue fluorescent carbon quantum dots (b-CQDs) with an average size of 3.29 nm and a quantum yield of 19.

Traditional nucleic acid extraction and detection is based on open operation, which may cause cross-contamination and aerosol formation. This study developed a droplet magnetic-controlled microfluidic chip integrated nucleic acid extraction, purification and amplification. The reagent is sealed in oil to form a droplet, and the nucleic acid is extracted and purified by controlling the movement of the magnetic beads (MBs) through a permanent magnet, ensuring a closed environment.

The crucial need for quality refined sugar has led to the development of advanced adsorbents, with a focus on the decolorization of remelt syrup. In this study, (3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl) trimethylammonium chloride and polyethyleneimine co-modified pomelo peel cellulose-derived aerogel (CP-PPA) was fabricated, and synthetic melanoidins were used as model colorants of remelt syrup to evaluate the validity and practicality of CP-PPA for eliminating colored impurities. Integrating abundant amine-functionalized groups (quaternary ammonium and protonated amine) within the pomelo peel-derived aerogel directionally captured electronegative melanoidins via electrostatic interactions.

Carbon quantum dots co-doped with iron and nitrogen (Fe@NCDs) were synthesized by using Passiflora edulis Sims (P. edulis) as a precursor. The Fe@NCDs exhibit outstanding peroxidase-mimetic activity owing to successful doping with iron resulting in a behavior similar to that of iron porphyrins.

Fabricating electronics from solid-state quantum emitters is a promising strategy for the miniaturization and integration of electronic devices. However, the practical realization of solid-state quantum devices and circuits for signal transmission and processing at room temperature has remained challenging. Herein, we investigated the multi-bunching phenomenon by generating multi-order fluorescence from a pseudo-thermal source at room temperature using the nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center in diamond.
