Background: Low physical function and malnutrition in elderly patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis (PD) are important issues that may be associated with prognosis. We aimed to determine the association between physical function and nutritional status and survival in elderly patients undergoing PD.
Methods: This single-center, prospective cohort study included 45 stable, ambulatory patients undergoing PD.
Background: Elderly peritoneal dialysis (PD) patients required assistance for a variety of PD-related tasks. The usefulness of assisted PD in reducing the peritonitis risk has been reported; however, there is little evidence on the effectiveness of assisted PD in preventing exit-site infections in older patients.
Methods: This was a single-center, prospective cohort study.
