We hypothesized that social jetlag would be associated with prolonged sleep duration on weekends and irregularities in wake-up time and/or bedtime on weekdays. In total, 1,200 Japanese male college students were included in this study. Participants completed an eight-day sleep diary in which they recorded their wake-up time, bedtime, and sleep duration every day for a week.
