Primary mucinous carcinoma of the skin arising from the upper eyelid: A case report and literature review.

Primary mucinous carcinoma of the skin (PMCS) is a rare malignant neoplasm of the sweat glands that has an incidence of 1 per 150,000 population. Because of the lack of typical characteristics, it is often misdiagnosed as an epidermoid cyst, pilomatrixoma, or chalazion before resection, with subsequent enucleation performed unintentionally. We present a case of a 51-year-old patient with PMCS in the upper eyelid that was successfully treated at our hospital.

Mode of entry of a vaporized pyrethroid knockdown agent into the body of the housefly, (Diptera: Muscidae).

We investigated the mode of entry of pyrethroids into the insect body using adult housefly, L., as an insect model. The wings of adult female houseflies were removed, and empenthrin was applied topically to three different sites: the mesothoracic spiracle, the ventral mesothorax, and the dorsal mesothorax.

The intermediate domain defines broad nucleotide selectivity for protein folding in Chlamydophila GroEL1.

The chaperonin GroEL assists protein folding in the presence of ATP and magnesium through substrate protein capsulation in combination with the cofactor GroES. Recent studies have revealed the details of folding cycles of GroEL from Escherichia coli, yet little is known about the GroEL-assisted protein folding mechanisms in other bacterial species. Using three model enzyme assays, we have found that GroEL1 from Chlamydophila pneumoniae, an obligate human pathogen, has a broader selectivity for nucleotides in the refolding reaction.
