Importance: Organophosphate flame retardants (OPFRs) are an important group of pollutants associated with endocrine disorders, cancer, and nephrotoxicity. However, temporal trends in OPFR metabolite concentrations remain understudied.
Objectives: To examine changes in urinary concentrations of OPFR metabolites among US children, youths, and adults from 2011 to 2020, and to evaluate whether sociodemographic factors were associated with variations in temporal trends.
Ferroptosis is a unique type of non-apoptotic form of cell death characterized by increased lipid hydroperoxide levels. It has relevance for a number of pathological conditions including multiple organ injuries and degenerative diseases. GPX4 plays an important role in ferroptosis by repairing lipid hydroperoxides.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFAcute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a prevalent hematological malignancy among adults. Recent studies suggest that the length of telomeres could significantly affect both the risk of developing AML and the overall survival (OS). Despite the limited focus on the prognostic value of telomere-related genes (TRGs) in AML, our study aims at addressing this gap by compiling a list of TRGs from TelNet, as well as collecting clinical information and TRGs expression data through the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database.

Although colonoscopy screening has greatly improved the early diagnosis of colorectal cancer, its recurrence and metastasis are still significant problems. Tumour cells usually have the hallmark of metabolic reprogramming, while fatty acids play important roles in energy storage, cell membrane synthesis, and signal transduction.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTrichosporeae is the largest and most taxonomically difficult tribe of Gesneriaceae due to its diverse morphology. Previous studies have not clarified the phylogenetic relationships within this tribe on several DNA markers, including the generic relationships within subtribes. Recently, plastid phylogenomics have been successfully employed to resolve the phylogenetic relationships at different taxonomic levels.

In this study, the expression matrix of the GSE95427 dataset after α-Syn overexpression in human glioma cell line H4 was obtained from the GEO database. We used the Gene Set Enrichment Analysis (GSEA) method to reanalyze this dataset to evaluate the possible functions of α-Syn.
View Article and Find Full Text PDF, a new species from limestone areas in Guangxi, China, is described and illustrated. It is morphologically most similar to and in having small and dense obovate leaf blades with a retuse apex, hairy young branches and calyx and campanulate corollas, but can be distinguished from them by the distance of basal gland from petiole, the length of peduncle, pedicle and filaments, the indumentum of calyx tube and corolla and the existence of apical glands on calyx lobes. A table to distinguish the new species from other morphologically similar species, as well as colour plates of comparison of key characters, is also provided.

However, it differs from the latter by having a broad ovate leaf blade, longer peduncle, and sexual dimorphic flowers.

This rare conifer was first recorded in 2002 from northern Vietnam and then in 2013 from Guangxi, China, yet nothing is known about its genetic diversity nor ploidy level variation, although previous cytological study suggest that Vietnamese populations are tetraploids.

The structures and absolute configurations of two new compounds were determined by a combination of NMR and CD spectroscopic analyses. All isolates were evaluated for their inhibitory effects on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced nitric oxide (NO) production in RAW264.

Based on the root concept of identity by descent (IBD), we present a sibship method of parental genotype reconstruction (PGR) that can use any number of reference sibs. Nine PGR patterns, along with their respective IBD proportions of full-sibs and half-sibs, were identified and used to calculate joint sibship probabilities and likelihood ratio formulas.

Coelocentrum. In continuation of our studies in this area, we report the discovery of two attractive new species from southwestern Guangxi: Begonia longgangensis and B.

The sequence variation of medicinal fish of Culter (Pisces: Cyprinidae) was analyzed by using cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) sequencing collected from different regions of the Yangtze River basin, and we examine whether barcoding of COI can be used to discriminate medicinal fish of Culter. The AT content in the COI region of medicinal fish of Culter was higher than that of GC, which was similar with other species of Cypriniformes. Ninty-six percent of nucleotide changes were observed at the 3rd codon position of COI sequence, but the amino acid compositions translated by COI sequences of all Culter fish stayed the same.

Objective: To study the effect of extubation time of indwelling urinary catheters on postoperative recovery after cesarean section.
Methods: A total of 138 parturients undergoing elective cesarean delivery were randomized into experimental group and control group to have the urinary catheters removed at 6-8 h and 24 h after cesarean section, respectively.
Results: Compared with the control group, the experimental group showed significantly decreased incidences of urinary tract infection and urethral irritation (P<0.
