Esophageal cancer is a relatively common malignant tumor of the digestive tract. Patients with esophageal cancer show a high incidence of aspiration after surgery, which has a serious impact on their prognosis and rehabilitation. Nevertheless, while existing and past endeavors have concentrated on enhancing the diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for esophageal cancer, the necessity of preventing pneumonia caused by postoperative aspiration remains to be adequately addressed.

Pathogenic germline mutations in the P-type copper-transporting ATPase (ATP7B) gene cause Wilson's disease (WD), a hereditary disorder characterized by disrupted copper metabolism. The Arg778Leu (R778L) mutation in exon 8 is prevalent among individuals with WD in East Asia and is associated with more severe phenotypes. In this study, we generated a WD mouse model harboring R778L mutation (R778L mice) using CRISPR/Cas9.

Research progress on knowledge-attitude-practice of VTE prevention in hospitalized patients: A review.

This study analyzes and summarizes the assessment tools, current situation, and influencing factors of venous thromboembolism (VTE) prevention knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) among patients. This study aimed to provide a reference basis for developing targeted health education plans and intervention strategies for patients to improve their knowledge and beliefs concerning VTE prevention. This study aimed to increase the implementation rate of VTE prevention measures and ultimately reduce the incidence of VTE.
