2D shape reconstruction of submillimetric irregular rough particles from speckle pattern in interferometric particle imaging measurement.

Particle shape is a significant feature of irregular particles. The interferometric particle imaging (IPI) technique has been introduced to retrieve submillimetric irregular rough particle shapes, while inevitable experimental noises hinder the convergence of two-dimensional (2D) particle shapes from single speckle patterns. In this work, a hybrid input-output algorithm with shrink-wrap support and oversampling smoothness constraints is utilized to suppress the Poisson noise in IPI measurement and recover accurate 2D shapes of particles.

Acquiring novel chemicals by overexpression of a transcription factor DibT in the dibenzodioxocinone biosynthetic cluster in Pestalotiopsis microspora.

The endophytic fungus Pestalotiopsis microspora has drawn attention due to its production of dibenzodioxocinones which are a new class of inhibitors of cholesterol ester transfer protein (CETP). Previous studies showed that the pks8 gene cluster is responsible for the biosynthesis of dibenzodioxocinones in P. microspora.

Endophytic Diaporthe associated with Citrus: A phylogenetic reassessment with seven new species from China.

Phytopathogenic species of Diaporthe are associated with melanose, stem-end rot and gummosis diseases of Citrus. However, little is known about the occurrence of species of Diaporthe as endophytes and saprobes. In this study, we obtained 58 strains of Diaporthe, including 44 endophytic isolates from cultivated Citrus in China.

Identification of a novel phylogenetic lineage of Alternaria alternata causing citrus brown spot in China.

Alternaria alternata sensu lato, casual agent of citrus brown spot, first identified in Yunnan province in 2010 and subsequently found in Zhejiang, Hunan, Guangdong provinces, Chongqing municipality andGuangxi autonomous region in China. During 2010-2012, 86 isolates were collected from diseased citrus, of which 85 % isolates were pathogenic to Ponkan tangerine. Phylogenetic analyses of Chinese and worldwide isolates using partial sequences of an endopolygalacturonase gene (endoPG) and combined dataset ofendoPG and two anonymous loci (OPA1-3, OPA2-1) found that Chinese isolates fell into two of three previously described clades.
