This study compared dynamic arc conformal radiotherapy (dynamic CRT) to static multiple-beam radiotherapy (static CRT) for treating lung cancer, focusing on how well each method delivers the radiation dose.
The results showed that dynamic CRT provided better dose conformity and significantly reduced the maximum dose to the spinal cord while maintaining acceptable lung dose levels compared to static CRT.
Ultimately, dynamic CRT with a different prescription method improved target coverage and safety for surrounding organs without increasing the dose to at-risk areas.
