- The study investigated the effects of phenobarbital (PB) on blood coagulation in non-pregnant, pregnant, and lactating rats, along with their pups.
- PB treatment increased liver weight and cytochrome P450 levels in all groups but led to prolonged blood coagulation times (APTT and PT) specifically in lactating rats and their pups.
- Co-administration of vitamin K(2) (VK(2)) improved blood coagulation parameters in pups but had no positive effect on the dams' coagulation profiles.
