This study aimed to investigate the clinical value of inflammatory factors for predicting anastomotic leakage (AL) after laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery and establish a nomogram model to assess the probability of its occurrence. Data of 637 patients who underwent laparoscopic colorectal cancer surgery between June 2019 and June 2022 were collected. Differences in procalcitonin (PCT), C-reactive protein (CRP), and white blood cell (WBC) levels before surgery and on postoperative day (POD) 3 and 5 were compared between patients with and without AL (AL and non-AL groups, respectively).

Article Synopsis
  • This study aimed to compare the effectiveness and safety of neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NACT) combined with the immunotherapy drug tislelizumab against NACT alone in patients with locally advanced gastric cancer (LAGC).
  • A total of 169 patients were analyzed, showing that those receiving NACT plus tislelizumab had significantly better outcomes, including a higher R0 resection rate and pathologic complete response rate, compared to the NACT group.
  • Despite these improvements, both groups had comparable postoperative complication rates, indicating that adding tislelizumab does not increase the risks associated with surgery.
