- Copper sulfide (CuS) was utilized in a Fenton-like system to effectively remove phenylarsonic acid (PAA) through the production of reactive oxygen species.
- CuS facilitated the conversion of Fe(III) into Fe(II) and also generated Cu(I) and superoxide anions, enhancing the overall oxidation process to produce hydroxyl radicals (•OH).
- The PAA degradation resulted in the formation of less harmful organoarsenic compounds and acids, demonstrating a 92.9% removal efficiency even after five cycles, showcasing a potential method for treating water contaminated with organoarsenic substances.
