Malignant ascites occurs as a symptom of the terminal stage of cancer, affecting the quality of life through abdominal distension, pain, nausea, anorexia, dyspnea and other symptoms. We describe the current main drug treatments in addition to surgery according to the traditional and new strategies. Traditional treatments were based on anti-tumor chemotherapy and traditional Chinese medicine treatments, as well as diuretics to relieve the patient's symptoms.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Banxia baizhu tianma decoction (BBTD) originated from the Qing Dynasty Chinese medicine book "Medical Xinwu", which has a clinical application history of more than 300 years. It's a classic prescription for expelling phlegm, extinguishing wind, strengthening the spleen (traditional Chinese medicine, ie, TCM, refers to the spleen channel) and dissipating excessive fluid based on TCM theory. BBTD is particularly effective in the treatment of excessive phlegm-dampness hypertension.

Objective: To observe the effects on post-stroke depression treated with acupuncture at the acu points based on ziwuliuzhu (the midnight-noon ebb-flow theory).

Methods: Ninety-three patients were randomized into a comprehensive group, a ziwuliuzhu group and a prozac group, 31 cases in each group. In the ziwuliuzhu group, acupuncture was applied to the acupoints based on ziwuliuzhu, once a day, 5 times in a week.

Objective: To determine the clinical evaluation role of laryngeal electromyography (LEMG) and laryngeal somatosensory evoked potential (LSEP) in the recurrent laryngeal nerve paralysis by anterior elective cervical surgery.

Methods: LEMG and LSEP were determined in 18 patients with recurrent laryngeal nerve paralysis by anterior elective cervical surgery at the 1st, 2nd and 4th week after operation. The comparison between the normal control (18 health adults) and the results of LEMG and LSEP were analyzed.
