Background: Osteoporotic vertebral fractures and their complications pose increasing risks to the elderly. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the clinical efficacy of unilateral percutaneous vertebroplasty in patients with osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCF) by assessing postoperative cement distribution.
Objective: This study aimed to investigate the impact of cement distribution on the efficacy of vertebral compression fracture repair to provide effective preventive and therapeutic measures, prevent postoperative vertebral re-fracture, and improve surgical outcomes.
Despite significant evidence on the anti-diabetic effect of chayote fruit and phenolic compounds, research on the mechanism of chayote (Sechium edule) pectin (CP) regulating blood glucose in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is scarce. Therefore, this study aims to explore the potential mechanisms by which CP modulates blood glucose levels through an 8-week administration in db/db mice. The results showed that the CP treatment in db/db mice resulted in an elevation in glucagon-like peptide (GLP-1) secretion, an increase in hepatic glycogen storage, and a decrease in homeostasis model assessment-insulin resistance (HOMA-IR).

This study undertakes a comprehensive examination of the intricate link between diet nutrition, age, and metabolic syndrome (MetS), utilizing advanced artificial intelligence methodologies. Data from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) spanning from 1999 to 2018 were meticulously analyzed using machine learning (ML) techniques, specifically extreme gradient boosting (XGBoost) and the proportional hazards model (COX). Using these analytic methods, we elucidated a significant correlation between age and MetS incidence and revealed the impact of age-specific dietary patterns on MetS.
