Purpose: Women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) show greater heterogeneity in ovarian responses during ovarian stimulation. We aimed to investigate the potential predicting factors among individualized basic parameters that affect poor or hyper ovarian responses in PCOS patients.

Methods: We retrospectively screened 2058 women with PCOS who underwent their first cycle of in vitro fertilization/intracytoplasmic sperm injection.

Mucosal-associated invariant T (MAIT) cells exhibit significant potential in the assessment of tumor development and immunotherapy. However, there is currently no convenient and efficient method to analyze the quantitative changes of MAIT cells during cancer development and treatment, which has not been extensively studied. Here, we report an electrochemical biosensor designed to efficiently monitor MAIT cells in peripheral blood by simultaneously recognizing Vα7.

The expression level of glucose transporter 1 (GLUT-1) is highly correlated with tumor malignancy, making it a promising therapeutic target for cancer treatment. The detection of GLUT-1 expression level is significant for cancer discovery and valuating the efficacy of drug treatments. However, current methods for GLUT-1 detection primarily rely on traditional techniques.

Article Synopsis
  • This study investigates acquired resistance to oxaliplatin (OXA), a chemotherapeutic drug, in gallbladder cancer (GBC) by creating OXA-resistant GBC cell lines.
  • Two OXA-resistant cell lines exhibited slower growth rates and enhanced abilities in stemness, colony formation, and migration, along with notable changes in gene expression.
  • The research identifies key dysregulated genes and pathways, particularly highlighting the role of PD-L1 and ERK1/2 in drug resistance, providing a foundation for future targeted therapies.

Purpose: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is one of the most common types of malignancies, and radiochemotherapy (RCT) followed by surgery is the recommended approach for CRC treatment. However, some cases do not respond to first-line conventional chemotherapy or even progress further after treatment. Moreover, there is a risk of severe side effects, such as radiodermatitis.

Background: Although radiation therapy for advanced colorectal cancer (CRC) is very effective in some patients, treatment resistance limits its efficacy. Insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor (IGF1R) can affect tumor responsiveness and sensitivity to radiation in several cancer types. Herein, we studied the underlying function of IGF1R in the resistance of advanced CRC to radiation therapy and the possible use of drugs targeting IGF1R to overcome this resistance in patients with CRC.
