Background: China's transition into an aging society is accelerated by the simultaneous decline in fertility rates and the prolonged life expectancy of older adults. The impact of widowhood, a significant stressor in old age, has emerged as a crucial factor affecting the quality of life among the elderly.
Methods: This study is based on data from the 2018 China Health and Aging Tracking Survey.

Polyelectrolyte-encapsulated nanocontainers can effectively respond to changes of pH and thus control the on-demand release of corrosion inhibitors. A pH-responsive release system (Phen-Tpp@MTNs-PDDA) was developed based on the cationic polyelectrolyte poly dimethyl diallyl ammonium chloride (PDDA) encapsulated mesoporous TiO nanocontainers (MTNs) loaded with 1,10-phenanthroline (Phen) and tripolyphosphate ions (Tpp) corrosion inhibitors. The epoxy coating (EP) embedded with Phen-Tpp@MTNs-PDDA (Phen-Tpp@MTNs-PDDA/EP) demonstrates superior self-healing properties and confers long-term protection on the metal substrate through the cooperative effect of Phen and Tpp.

Here, the pH-responsive two-dimensional/three-dimensional (2D/3D) GO-based composite (ZIF-90-AAP/GO) was developed by environmentally friendly corrosion inhibitor 4-aminoantipyrine (AAP) anchored on the in situ growth of zeolite imidazolate framework-90 (ZIF-90) on the GO surface (ZIF-90/GO) through the Schiff base reaction. The active filler (ZIF-90-AAP/GO) was incorporated into an epoxy coating (EP) to obtain a high-performance self-healing coating on the surface of carbon steel.

Methods: A total of 24 APP/PS1 mice were randomly divided into four groups: model (n = 6), JDYZF low-dose (n = 6), JDYZF high-dose (n = 6), and positive drug (n = 6), six C57 mice were used as the control group. The body weights and diets of all mice were examined daily.
The purpose of the present study is to better understand the reaction kinetics of diesel exhaust soot during oxidation process. A thermogravimetric analyzer was used to oxidize real diesel exhaust soot generated from a Euro VI diesel engine under non-isothermal conditions. The Friedman-Reich-Levi method and the Sestak-Berggren model were used to determine the oxidation kinetics.

Then, the implementation of the three-parameter independent measurement was performed. Among of them, one of fiber Bragg gratings (FBG) is coated giant magnetostrictive particle composite (GMPC) to measure the magnetic field, another FBG is used to measure displacement, and a micro-nano fiber structure of single mode fiber (SMF)-tapering seven core fiber (T-MCF-7)-SMF (S-TM7-S) is applied to measure temperature.

Methods: A total of 135 healthy Sprague Dawley rats were randomly divided into five groups: control (n = 27), model (n = 27), DDD low-dose (n = 27), DDD medium-dose (n = 27), and DDD high-dose (n = 27). AICH stroke in rats was induced by injecting autologous blood into the caudate nucleus.
A radical-based asymmetric olefin difunctionalization strategy for rapidly forging all-carbon quaternary stereocenters α to diverse azaarenes is reported. Under cooperative photoredox and chiral Brønsted acid catalysis, cyclopropylamines with α-branched 2-vinylazaarenes can undergo a sequential two-step radical process, furnishing various valuable chiral azaarene-substituted cyclopentanes. The use of the rigid and confined -symmetric imidodiphosphoric acid catalysts achieves high enantio- and diastereo-selectivities for these asymmetric [3 + 2] cycloadditions.

The fluorescent probes with good water-solubility, long-wavelength emission and large Stokes shift are greatly desirable for in vivo detection. Herein, we designed a novel 1,8-naphthalimide-based near-infrared (NIR) optical and fluorescent probe (NTC) for sensing cysteine (Cys). Using acrylate as the recognition site, the probe demonstrated high selectivity and sensitivity for Cys with a low detection limit (0.

An enantioconvergent substitution of 3-substituted 3-chlorooxindoles with N-aryl glycines under visible light irradiation is reported. A transition-metal-free cooperative catalysis platform with a dicyanopyrazine-derived chromophore (DPZ) as a photoredox catalyst and a chiral Brønsted acid catalyst is effective for these transformations, which involve a single-electron transfer redox step and an enantioselective radical coupling. A variety of valuable chiral 3-aminomethylene-3-substituted oxindoles can be directly synthesized with high yields and enantioselectivities.

The results showed pretreatment with CCP significantly protected PC12 cells from Aβ induced cell death, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) release, nuclear fragmentation, mitochondrial dysfunction and cytochrome c release from mitochondria. Furthermore, CCP (100 μg/ml) significantly inhibited Aβ induced c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) phosphorylation, but not influence signal-regulated kinase (ERK) and P38 mitogen-activated protein kinase (p38MAPK) pathway, and interestingly, the promoting effect of CCP on PC12 cell survival was only blocked by pre-treatment with a SP600125 (JNK inhibitor).
