Background: Ward rounds are an essential component of inpatient care. Patient participation in rounds is increasingly encouraged, despite the occasional complicated circumstances, especially in acute care settings.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of real-time ward round notifications using SMS text messaging on the satisfaction of inpatients in an acute medical ward.

Efficacy of Combined CD38 and PD1 Inhibition with Isatuximab and Cemiplimab for Relapsed/Refractory NK/T-Cell Lymphoma.

This study aimed to assess the efficacy and safety of combining cemiplimab, an anti-PD1 antibody, with isatuximab, an anti-CD38 antibody, in relapsed or refractory extranodal NK/T-cell lymphoma (R/R ENKTL). The hypothesis was that CD38 blockade could enhance the antitumor activity of PD1 inhibitors. Eligible patients received cemiplimab (250 mg on days 1 and 15) and isatuximab (10 mg/kg on days 2 and 16) intravenously every four weeks for six cycles.

Connecting Underrepresented Medical Students to Resources and Role Models in Orthopaedic Surgery: A Virtual Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Summit.

Introduction: Limited access to resources and stereotypes about orthopaedic surgeons may contribute to the low percentage of women and people of underrepresented in medicine (URiM) backgrounds in orthopaedic surgery. Several organizations have created resources to address these barriers, but medical students are unlikely to be exposed to the initiatives through traditional curricula. The purpose of this study was to (1) evaluate the ability of a 1-day virtual Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) summit to effectively reach URiM medical students, (2) increase medical students' knowledge of DEIA resources, and (3) augment the perception of diverse backgrounds in orthopaedic surgery.

Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is the most aggressive type of brain tumor, characterized by its heterogeneity in cellular components, including reactive astrocytes and microglia. Since neuroimmune responses like astrogliosis and microgliosis gain recognition as vital factors in brain tumor progression, there is a growing need for clinically relevant models that assess the interactions between astrocytes, microglia, and GBM. Here, a NEuroimmune-Oncology Microphysiological Analysis Platform (NEO-MAP) is presented as a "new map" to observe astrocytic scar formation and microgliosis in response to GBM.

Cutaneous lupus erythematosus presenting as a nonhealing ulcer in an African American woman: A case report.

Objective: Cutaneous lupus erythematosus (CLE) is a chronic autoimmune disorder of the skin.

Methods: In this report, we describe the case of an African American woman with CLE who had an ulcer on her posterior thigh. Despite this, initial biopsy specimen of the lesion revealed no evidence of CLE until a repeat biopsy 5 months later.

Attenuation of senile pruritus by PAC-14028-mediated downregulation of the NF-κB and MAPK pathways.

Objective: Senile pruritus is a specific type of itching that occurs in elderly persons. Previously, we assessed antagonism of the nonselective ligand-gated cation channel transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1; capsaicin receptor or vanilloid receptor 1) and attenuation of atopic dermatitis by the non-steroidal TRPV1 antagonist PAC-14028 in clinical studies. The findings led us to postulate that PAC-14028 may also reduce itching in elderly people by antagonizing the TRPV1 pathway.

Although the association between yersiniosis and reproductive complications is known, systematic studies and case series on abortion in sheep and goats are scarce. Here we describe epidemiologic and pathologic findings in 34 cases of - and -associated abortions in sheep and goats, contributing to the understanding of these zoonotic diseases in California.

Aryl halide cross-coupling via formate-mediated transfer hydrogenation.

Transfer hydrogenation is widely practised across all segments of chemical industry, yet its application to aryl halide reductive cross-coupling is undeveloped because of competing hydrogenolysis. Here, exploiting the distinct reactivity of Pd species, an efficient catalytic system for the reductive cross-coupling of activated aryl bromides with aryl iodides via formate-mediated hydrogen transfer is described. These processes display orthogonality with respect to Suzuki and Buchwald-Hartwig couplings, as pinacol boronates and anilines are tolerated and, owing to the intervention of chelated intermediates, are effective for challenging 2-pyridyl systems.

Abdominal bracing core (ABC) exercises have been validated as effective for alleviating chronic back pain. The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness of ABC rehabilitation exercises in reducing pain in ADPKD patients with significant PLD.
