Purpose: Exploring the prevalence of dry eye (DE) and the changes of tear film stability in patients with primary acquired obstruction of the nasolacrimal duct (PANDO).

Methods: In this cross-sectional, observational study, 370 eyes in 223 patients with PANDO were assessed. The ocular surface disease index (OSDI) was used to evaluate ocular surface symptoms, and the Keratograph 5M non-invasive ocular surface analyser was used to assess ocular surface parameters.

Article Synopsis
  • * Researchers developed a new chemical proteomic strategy using a biotinylated UTP probe and LC-MS/MS to identify and quantify UTP-binding proteins on a large scale.
  • * By identifying over 70 potential UTP-binding proteins involved in cellular processes like translation and protein folding, this study marks the first comprehensive analysis of UTP-binding proteins in the human proteome.

The detection of Ag in the environment is very important to determine the level of pollution from silver complexes, which have caused various human health problems. Herein, an aggregation-induced emission (AIE) chromophore (tetraphenylethane, TPE) attached to a benzimidazole group (tetra-benzimidazole, TBI-TPE) is synthesized and utilized to detect Ag in the environment. The strong chelating effect between the benzimidazole group and Ag leads to the formation of aggregates, and strong yellow fluorescence signals were observed after adding Ag into a TBI-TPE solution.
