Background: Lumbar disc herniation (LDH) is an important factor of causing leg pain and numbness. As a secondary discipline of Traditional Chinese Medicine, tuina is widely used for the treatment of LDH in China even in other nations while its clinical value is not acknowledged universally. So, we focus on this article aims to evaluate its efficacy and safety of LDH.

Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), an immune-mediated demyelinating peripheral neuropathy, is characterized by acute weakness of the extremities and areflexia or hyporeflexia. Experimental autoimmune neuritis (EAN) is a common animal model for GBS, which represents a CD4 T cell-mediated inflammatory autoimmune demyelination of the peripheral nervous system (PNS), and is used to investigate the pathogenic mechanism of GBS. It has been found that macrophages play a critical role in the pathogenesis of both GBS and EAN.

Article Synopsis
  • The paper investigates the elastocaloric effect of two shape memory alloys, CuAlZn and CuAlMn, under compression at room temperature, analyzing their temperature changes during unloading.
  • During adiabatic testing (0.1 s(-1) strain rate), CuAlZn showed a higher temperature change of 4.0 K compared to 3.9 K for CuAlMn, despite CuAlMn having a significantly lower maximum stress of 120 MPa at 4% strain.
  • The latent heat values determined for CuAlZn and CuAlMn were 4.3 J/g and 5.0 J/g, respectively, with CuAlMn yielding a higher potential coefficient of performance (COPmat) of approximately 13

We analyze thickness-shear vibration of an AT-cut quartz plate with elliptical electrodes. The electrodes are essentially optimal in the sense of Mindlin in that they approximately satisfy the criterion for Bechmann's number in every direction. The results of our analysis suggest that optimal crystal blank geometry is essentially elliptical.
