Factors Affecting Perceived Effectiveness of Government Response towards COVID-19 Vaccination in Occidental Mindoro, Philippines.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused several developing countries to fall behind on vaccination at the onset of the pandemic, thus affecting the mobility of easing restrictions and lowering virus transmission. The current study integrated the Protection Motivation Theory (PMT) and extended the Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) to evaluate factors affecting the perceived effectiveness of government response towards COVID-19 vaccination in Occidental Mindoro. A total of 400 respondents from the municipalities of Occidental Mindoro answered the online questionnaires, which contained 61 questions.

Assessing Cognitive Factors of Modular Distance Learning of K-12 Students Amidst the COVID-19 Pandemic towards Academic Achievements and Satisfaction.

The COVID-19 pandemic brought extraordinary challenges to K-12 students in using modular distance learning. According to Transactional Distance Theory (TDT), which is defined as understanding the effects of distance learning in the cognitive domain, the current study constructs a theoretical framework to measure student satisfaction and Bloom's Taxonomy Theory (BTT) to measure students' academic achievements. This study aims to evaluate and identify the possible cognitive capacity influencing K-12 students' academic achievements and satisfaction with modular distance learning during this new phenomenon.

Background: Hemodialysis mainly relies on the "artificial kidney," which plays a very important role in temporarily or permanently substituting for the kidney to carry out the exchange of waste and discharge of water. Nevertheless, a previous study on the artificial kidney has paid little attention to the optimization of factors and levels for reducing the solidification of the artificial kidney during the hemodialysis procedure. Thus, this study proposes an integrated model that uses the Taguchi method, omega formula, and back-propagation network to determine the optimal factors and levels for addressing this issue.

A study of optimal handle shape and muscle strength distribution on lower arm when holding a foil.

The strength of five working muscle groups of the lower arms of 8 male fencers, including adductor pollicis, extensor carpi radialis, flexor carpi radialis, extensor carpi ulnaris, and flexor carpi ulnaris, were examined during competition. Root mean square values of muscular electromyographic signals indicated that the shape of foil handles significantly influenced distribution of working strength of each muscle group. Use of the Pistol-Viscounti type of foil handle showed better distribution of strength among the 5 muscle groups than did other types of foils.
