Introduction: The husk tightness (HTI) in maize plays a crucial role in regulating the water content of ears during the maturity stage, thereby influencing the quality of mechanical grain harvesting in China. Genomic selection (GS), which employs molecular markers, offers a promising approach for identifying and selecting inbred lines with the desired HTI trait in maize breeding. However, the effectiveness of GS is contingent upon various factors, including the genetic architecture of breeding populations, sequencing platforms, and statistical models.

Background And Objective: It is very significant in orthodontics and restorative dentistry that the teeth are segmented from dental panoramic X-ray images. Nevertheless, there are some problems in panoramic X-ray images of teeth, such as blurred interdental boundaries, low contrast between teeth and alveolar bone.

Methods: In this paper, The Teeth U-Net model is proposed in this paper to resolve these problems.

Dense convolutional network (DenseNet) is a hot topic in deep learning research in recent years, which has good applications in medical image analysis. In this paper, DenseNet is summarized from the following aspects. First, the basic principle of DenseNet is introduced; second, the development of DenseNet is summarized and analyzed from five aspects: broaden DenseNet structure, lightweight DenseNet structure, dense unit, dense connection mode, and attention mechanism; finally, the application research of DenseNet in the field of medical image analysis is summarized from three aspects: pattern recognition, image segmentation, and object detection.

Here, we report the complete mitochondrial (mt) genome of Qing_6, an improved strain serving silk production and edible insect resource for 50 years in Northeast China. The circular mt genome spans 15,572 bp in length and contains 37 typical coding genes (13 protein-coding genes, two ribosomal RNA genes, 22 transfer RNA genes). Its A + T-rich region is 552 bp in size exhibiting identical sequence with the first modern improved strain Qinghuang_1.
