Stretchable photosensors, which operate in the wavelength window of 1.3 μm, were fabricated with InN nanowires (NWs) and graphene to serve as a light-absorbing medium and carrier channel, respectively. Specifically, the stretchable photosensors were fabricated by transferring InN NWs embedded in graphene layers onto polyurethane substrates pre-stretched at the strain levels of 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, and 60%.

An unequal distribution of household work by gender is prevalent. This study explored the association between husbands' participation in household work and the onset of depressive symptoms among married Korean women. A nationwide sample of 7024 married women was repeatedly followed up at 2-year intervals from 2014 to 2022 (20,343 observations).

Oxidative stress caused by excess reactive oxygen species (ROS) is one of the main causes of low efficiency in in vitro production of embryos. These ROS can cause mitochondrial dysfunction and apoptosis, resulting in poor embryo development. Therefore, to prevent mitochondrial damage and apoptosis caused by ROS, we investigated the effects of mitoquinone (MitoQ), a mitochondrial-targeted antioxidant, on the in vitro culture (IVC) of porcine embryos.

Article Synopsis
  • The study focused on developing an occupation classification model using DistilKoBERT, highlighting its importance for policy and epidemiological research.
  • The research utilized data from over 99,000 participants of the Korean Working Conditions Surveys and involved fine-tuning the model to classify job responsibilities into specific occupational codes.
  • Results showed the model achieved 84.44% accuracy and high precision for service and sales jobs, indicating its potential for improving automated classification systems in occupational safety research.

Although precarious employment (PE) has emerged as a growing public health concern, research on older adults is scarce. This study explored the associations between PE and the onset of depressive symptoms and problematic alcohol use among middle-aged and older workers. A total of 2536 Korean waged workers aged ≥45 years contributed 8486 observations from 2006 to 2022.

Objective: This study examined the relationship between precarious employment (PE) and mental well-being, focusing on age-specific interactions.

Methods: Nationally representative Korean workers (N = 29,961) were surveyed between 2020 and 2021 to collect data on multidimensional PE (categorized as low, moderate, or high) and the WHO-5 well-being index. Workers' ages were classified as young (<35 years), middle-aged (35-54 years), and older (≥55 years).

Article Synopsis
  • The worm snail (Mörch, 1859) is a sessile gastropod found primarily on rocky shores in warm temperate and tropical oceans.
  • The study characterized its complete mitochondrial genome, which is 14,913 base pairs long and includes 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNA genes, and 2 rRNA genes, showing similarities to other species in the Vermetidae family.
  • A phylogenetic tree created from the nucleotide sequences confirmed the monophyly of the Vermetidae and indicates that this mitogenome can be useful for species identification and further research on vermetids.

Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV), porcine deltacoronavirus (PDCoV), and swine acute diarrhea syndrome coronavirus (SADS-CoV) cause intestinal diseases with similar manifestations in suckling piglets. In this study, we developed a multiplex real-time PCR for differential diagnosis of PEDV, PDCoV, and SADS-CoV. The assay demonstrated high specificity with a detection limit of 5 copies/µl for each virus.
