Background: Intravascular ultrasound-determined plaque protrusion (PP) during carotid artery stenting (CAS) using conventional stents is reported in 7.6% to 12% of cases and is associated with periprocedural cerebral embolism. The Casper/Roadsaver stent (CRS) is a dual-layer micromesh stent designed to reduce the risk of PP, with a mesh cell diameter 4-fold smaller size than that of conventional stents.

Overshunting-Associated Myelopathy Treated with Endoscopic Third Ventriculostomy.

Background: Overshunting-associated myelopathy (OSAM) is a rare complication of cerebrospinal fluid shunt placement. Previous reports have recommended removal or ligation of the shunt and use or revision of a pressure programmable valve to treat OSAM. Background And Importance: Access to a dorsum sellae meningioma is difficult. A transcranial approach, such as a pterional, subtemporal, or transpetrosal method, often requires significant brain retraction and crossing of cranial nerves to access this region. We present here a successful purely endoscopic endonasal transpituitary gland approach for resection of a growing dorsum sellae meningioma.

A Fatal Spontaneous Gas Gangrene due to Clostridium perfringens during Neutropenia of Allogeneic Stem Cell Transplantation: Case Report and Literature Review.

Most cases of gas gangrene caused by Clostridium species begin with trauma-related injuries but in rare cases, spontaneous gas gangrene (SGG) can occur when patients have conditions such as advanced malignancy, diabetes, or immunosuppression. Clostridium perfringens, a rare cause of SGG, exists as normal flora of skin and intestines of human.
