Despite the demand for nanoscale thermal management technologies of material surfaces and interfaces using organic molecules, heat transport properties at the single molecular level remain elusive due to the experimental difficulty of measuring temperature at the nanoscopic scale. Here we show how chemical bonding modes can affect the heat transport properties of single molecules. We focused on four molecular systems: benzylthiol linked to another phenyl group by either a triple (compound ), double (), or amide () bond and a common linear alkanethiol (), all of which are nearly identical in molecular length.

The internal mammary vessels (IMA/Vs) have been used as the first-choice recipient vessels for microsurgical anastomosis and flap inset in autologous breast reconstruction owing to their ease of access and use compared with the thoracodorsal vessels (TDA/Vs). Herein, we report two cases of deep inferior epigastric perforator flap breast reconstructions in which the recipient internal mammary vein (IMV) was lacking. In the first case, a 50-year-old patient underwent delayed two-stage reconstruction, and in the second, a 45-year-old patient underwent delayed reconstruction because of capsular contracture following breast implant reconstruction.

In this study, four kinds of bolaform biosurfactants were produced, and these derivatives were chemoenzymatically synthesized from "acid form" diacetylated SL (SLdiAc), which are preferentially produced by Candida floricola TM 1502 which was newly found in our group. The effects of the structure of sugar moiety on their surface-active properties were investigated by surface tension measurement.

MEL-A gives not only excellent self-assembling properties but also a high binding affinity toward human immunoglobulin G (HIgG). In this study, three kinds of MEL-A were prepared from methyl myristate [MEL-A (m)], olive oil [MEL-A (o)], and soybean oil [MEL-A (s)], and the effect of interfacial properties of each MEL-A monolayer on the binding affinity toward HIgG was investigated using surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and the measurement of surface pressure (pi)-area (A) isotherms.
