Total testosterone (TT) and free testosterone (FT) are important biochemical markers for anabolism of the human body, and can also serve as early screening indicators for overtraining syndrome (OTS). Presently, there is no fast and reliable serum TT and FT determination method in the field of sport science that can meet the requirements of sports research. Thus, a rapid and accurate determination method for serum TT and FT to fill the gap is needed urgently in sports training.

In recent years, close-range photogrammetry based on smartphone has attracted attention from researchers due to its low cost and non-destructive characteristics. However, such methods have specific requirements for camera angle and distance during shooting, and pre-shooting operations such as camera calibration and placement of calibration boards are necessary, which could be inconvenient to operate in complex natural environments.

In this paper, we propose a time-delayed nonlinear combinatorial hyperchaotic map (TD-NCHM) with a wide hyperchaotic interval. Based on TD-NCHM, we develop a fast and secure image-encryption algorithm that includes a plaintext-sensitive key-generation method and a simultaneous row-column shuffling-diffusion encryption process.

In this paper, we propose a platinum nanomaterial pre-coated matrix, which can be prepared in bulk by sputtering platinum nanoparticles onto slides using an ion sputterer and then used for MALDI-MS analysis by placing tissue sections on the matrix. We used this matrix for MALDI-MS imaging analysis of corn kernels and germinated wheat sections, and the results show that triacylglycerides were mainly distributed in the embryo of corn kernels and germinated wheat, and sugars were mainly distributed in the endosperm, with the highest content of disaccharides.

The influence of the loading history on the formation of instability patterns has not been studied. In this work, the effects of the deformation history involving different loading sequences were investigated via comprehensive large-scale finite element simulations.

Herein, we utilized two natural steroids: cholesterol and diosgenin (bearing different hydrophobic tails) as the building blocks, to synthesize a series of natural steroid-based cationic random copolymers PMA6Chol--PDMAEMA and PMA6Dios--PDMAEMA RAFT polymerization. The results demonstrated that the steroid--PDMAEMA copolymers could efficiently bind pDNA (N/P < 3.

In this work, Glide docking-based virtual screening and kinase inhibition assay were performed to identify novel HPK1 inhibitors. The kinase inhibition assay results demonstrated five compounds with IC values below 20 μM, and the most potent one (compound M074-2865) had an IC value of 2.

However, mechanical robustness and functionalization remain major challenges. Here, we synthesized a compressible, recoverable cellulose nanofiber (CNF)/carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC)/branched polyethyleneimine (BPEI) aerogel via electrostatic-modulated interfacial covalent crosslinking and freeze-drying process.

Chemical oxidation technologies processes high efficiency on the destruction of aqueous organic components via oxidation by radicals, however, wood block treatment scenarios suffer from the low availability of radicals in aqueous conditions owing to the special structure of the wood blocks, limitations of mass transfer and the short life of free radicals. Herein, ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) is selected as a chelating agent to synthesize EDTA-Fe chelate, thus introducing Fe into the wood by vacuum impregnation.

Regenerable, high-performance heavy metal sorbents are urgently demanded for improved water purification. Herein, we present an elegant strategy of interweaving metal-organic framework (MOF-808-ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid) and TEMPO-oxidized cellulose nanofibers (TCNF) to construct freeways in hybrid aerogels for rapid and efficient transport and capture of heavy metal ions.

Soy protein (SP)-based adhesives can replace traditional aldehyde-based adhesives for the manufacturing of wood-based panels. However, developing a SP-based adhesive with excellent prepressing bonding strength, flame retardancy, and mildew resistance remains a challenge. Herein, an inorganic crystal cross-linked hybrid SP adhesive was developed inspired by the "secreting-hardening" process of the mussel adhesive protein and the organic-inorganic hybrid adhesive system of the oyster.

Since traditional methods for removing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from wood consume large amounts of energy and generate environmental pollution, it is desired to develop a convenient and green treatment method. Oxidation by microwave-activated persulfate (MW-PS) is a promising alternative method that has been used to eliminate VOCs from wood. The penetration of microwave energy can destroy the wood pit membranes and increase VOC emissions.

The success of fascinating graphene has motivated much interest in exploiting new two-dimensional (2D) carbon allotropes with excellent electronic and mechanical properties such as graphdiyne and penta-graphene. However, there are only very few reported structures for stable 2D all-sp3 carbon allotropes. Here, we proposed a new 2D all-sp3 carbon allotrope, named as TTH-carbon.

The low coefficient-of-friction (CoF) of Zr-based MG-coated dicing blades was shown to reduce the number and size of chips, regardless of the target substrate. Overall, SiC, sapphire and PSS were most affected by chipping, due to the fact that higher cutting forces were needed for the higher hardness of SiC, sapphire and PSS.

Although this surface undulation may be an undesirable feature, the development of new functional devices has begun to take advantage of wrinkled surfaces. The wrinkled structure also serves to improve mechanical resilience of flexible devices by suppressing crack formation upon stretching and bending.
