Minimally invasive procedures assisted by soft robots for surgery, diagnostics, and drug delivery have unprecedented benefits over traditional solutions from both patient and surgeon perspectives. However, the translation of such technology into commercialization remains challenging. The lack of perception abilities is one of the obstructive factors paramount for a safe, accurate and efficient robot-assisted intervention.

Background: Low anterior resection syndrome (LARS) is a series of bowel dysfunction symptoms, including altered bowel frequency, irregular bowel rhythms, fecal incontinence, and constipation. LARS occurs in 80% of patients undergoing sphincter-preserving surgery, affecting patients' quality of life along with social avoidance. Different measurements and treatments have been raised to deal with LARS, but no systematic standard has been developed.

CpG oligodeoxynucleotides (ODNs) are oligodeoxynucleotides containing CpG motifs and can be recognized by toll-like receptor 9 (TLR9), activating the host's immune responses. In this study, ten different CpG ODNs were designed and synthesized to study the antibacterial immune responses of CpG ODNs in golden pompano (Trachinotus ovatus). Results showed that CpG ODN 2102 significantly improved the immunity of golden pompano against bacteria.

Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates essential genes and pathways involved in diabetes of the exocrine pancreas (DEP) by analyzing pancreatic tissue samples from 20 diabetic and 32 nondiabetic individuals.
  • Differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified, including 59 up-regulated and 3 down-regulated genes, with HLA-DRA highlighted as a central gene in the protein-protein interaction network.
  • The findings suggest that the immune system and infection-related pathways, particularly involving HLA-DRA, may be crucial in understanding the molecular mechanisms of DEP.

Aim: To establish a 293T cell line with stable expression of UBE2C and to investigate the effect of UBE2C overexpression on the proliferation of 293T cells.

Methods: Recombinant plasmid pcDNA3.1(-)/UBE2C successfully constructed in previous time was transfected into 293T cells by lipofectamine 2000.

Aim: To construct the recombinant eukaryotic expression vector pDsRed1-C3/LOC51255 and investigate the subcellular localization of LOC51255 protein in HePG2 cell line.

Methods: The cDNA of LOC51255 was amplified from the recombinant plasmid pET28b/LOC51255 by PCR. The aim gene fragment LOC51255 from pMD18-T/LOC51255 was subcloned into eukaryotic expression vector pDsRed1-C3.
