- The study aimed to assess how intermittent hypobaric hypoxia (IHH) affects healing after tooth extraction in rats by examining the expression of HIF-1α and VEGF mRNA, as well as angiogenesis.
- Forty-five male Sprague-Dawley rats underwent tooth extraction and were grouped based on varying IHH exposure frequencies and control conditions, with gene expression and histological changes measured post-surgery.
- Results showed that IHH exposure significantly increased HIF-1α and VEGF mRNA levels, enhancing angiogenesis compared to normoxic controls, with the most substantial effects noted shortly after initial IHH exposure.

Airports need high security procedures, especially for preventing outbreaks of infectious diseases spread by passenger and carried goods. Outbreaks of disease form real threat to national defense that can endanger national sovereignty, territorial integrity and national security. Biological agents that are dangerous sources of outbreaks infectious diseases can be spread by criminal and terrorists for biological warfare.
