Materials with flat bands can serve as a promising platform to investigate strongly interacting phenomena. However, experimental realization of ideal flat bands is mostly limited to artificial lattices or moiré systems. Here, a general way is reported to construct 1D flat bands in phosphorene nanoribbons (PNRs) with a pentagonal nature: penta-hexa-PNRs and penta-dodeca-PNRs, wherein the corresponding 1D flat bands are directly verified by using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy.

This study demonstrates that a nonnegative complex-valued object without support constraints can be reconstructed from its diffraction pattern, even with partially missing data. We employed a continuous hybrid input-output (CHIO) algorithm, which imposes double nonnegative constraints on the real and imaginary parts of the object. Temperature is an important driving force that shapes the texture of fermented vegetables through driving the molecular distribution and microbial invasion between the liquid phase (brine) and the solid phase (vegetables) during fermentation. The objective of this study was to investigate the texture softening by investigating firmness, microstructure, physicochemical properties, molecular distribution and microbial community between brine and vegetables of Paocai as affected by fermentation temperatures of 10 °C, 20 °C and 30 °C. Results demonstrated that, compared with 10 °C and 30 °C, 20 °C attenuated softening of Paocai by restraining microbial invasion and suppressing pectinolysis.
