Koro Syndrome: Epidemiology, Psychiatric and Physical Risk Factors, Clinical Presentation, Diagnosis, and Treatment Options.

Koro syndrome is a multi-tiered disease presenting as an overwhelming belief that one's sex organs are shrinking into their body. Moderate to severe anxiety attacks are associated with the condition, along with a fear of imminent death. Koro is often culturally related and is most seen as an epidemic form in East and Southeast Asia, although it can present anywhere worldwide in its sporadic form.

Paediatric trauma education in low- and middle-income countries: A systematic literature review.

Background: Trauma-specific training improves clinician comfort and reduces patient morbidity and mortality; however, curricular content, especially with regard to paediatric trauma, varies greatly by region and income status. We sought to understand how much paediatric education is included in trauma curricula taught in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).

Methods: We conducted a systematic literature review in October 2020 and in July 2022 based on PRISMA guidelines, utilizing seven databases: MEDLINE, Scopus, Web of Science, CINAHL, Cochrane Reviews, Cochrane Trials, and Global Index Medicus.

Dhat syndrome is a culture-bound psychiatric syndrome most commonly found in the Indian subcontinent. It has been characterized as the experiential fear of losing semen through ejaculation, nocturnal emission, or other means. While Dhat syndrome is common in the Indian subcontinent, given the lack of representativeness, generalizability, and closer connection to Ayurvedic system, there have been limited studies or recognition of symptoms among healthcare providers around the world.

Impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on cancer patients and psycho-oncology providers: Perspectives, observations, and experiences of the American Psychosocial Oncology Society membership.

Objective: To understand: (1) psycho-oncology providers' perspectives on and observations of the psychological responses of their cancer patients during the pandemic, and (2) psycho-oncology providers' own experiences delivering care.

Methods: In this concurrent mixed methods study, a survey was distributed to psychosocial providers who were members of the American Psychosocial Oncology Society (APOS). Survey respondents were invited to participate in a one-on-one audio-recorded interview via phone or secure Zoom®.
