Spin-contrast-variation (SCV) small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) is a technique to determine the nanostructure of composite materials from the scattering of polarized neutrons that changes with proton polarization of samples. The SCV-SANS enabled us to determine structure of nanoice crystals that were generated in rapidly frozen sugar solutions by separating the overlapped signals from the nanoice crystals and frozen amorphous solutions. In the frozen glucose solution, we found that the nanoice crystals formed a planar structure with a radius larger than several tens of nanometers and a thickness of 2.

However, A-LAM is unattainable from conventional BCPs, and there is no general molecular design strategy for A-LAM-forming BCP. Herein, a nanoparticle-linear hybrid BCP system is reported, which is designed based on the intramolecular crosslinking technique, as a remarkably effective platform to obtain the A-LAM morphology.

In contrast to the well-established relation between the size of gaseous molecule and hydrate structure, previous work showed that carbon monoxide molecules preferentially form structure-I rather than structure-II gas hydrate. Resolving this discrepancy is fundamentally important to understanding clathrate formation, structure stabilization and the role the dipole moment/molecular polarizability plays in these processes.

Temperature-driven Li displacements were observed; the displacements indicate that the conduction pathways in the garnet framework are restricted to diffusion through the tetrahedral sites of the interstitial space.
