Jones Fractures in Sumo Wrestlers: Three Case Reports.

Jones fractures sometimes occur in athletes and are known to have complications, such as nonunion, delayed union, and recurrence, even with treatment. We describe three cases of Jones fractures in sumo wrestlers with treatment-related difficulties. All patients discontinued treatment at their own discretion.

Introduction and overview of the special issue "Brain imaging and aging": The new era of neuroimaging in aging research.

It is well known that the brain is one of the organs particularly affected by aging in terms of function, relative to the gastrointestinal tract and liver, which exhibit less functional decline. There is also a wide range of age-related neurological disorders such as stroke, Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease. Therefore, it is very important to understand the relationship between functional age-related change and neurological dysfunction.

Metallothionein-3 (MT-3) in the human adrenal cortex and its disorders.

Metallothionein-3 (MT-3) is an intracellular, low molecular weight protein mainly distributed in the central nervous system but also in various peripheral organs and several types of human neoplasms. However, details of MT-3 expression have not been examined in human adrenal cortex and its disorders. The mRNA levels of MT-3 were first evaluated by quantitative RT-PCR (qPCR) in adrenocortical aldosterone-producing adenoma (APA: 11) and cortisol-producing adenoma (CPA: 14).
